Margaret is an accomplished classically trained teacher/musician. She has over 18 years of experience of entering pupils for the Associated Board Royal Schools of Music exams, both Classical and Jazz and Blues. Her pupils regularly achieve merits and distinctions!
Margaret also encourages pupils to have the confidence to play wide musical genres by ear- as well as teaching how to read music proficiently.
Her current pupils are aged between 5 - 90 years old!! (yes, you are never too late to learn). The candidates Margaret enters for the Associated Board Royal Schools Of Music exams - Classical, Jazz and Blues,Theory of music regularly gain merits and distinctions.

Margaret is a graduate from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music gaining grade 8 (distinction) and L.R.A.M. diploma. But, she could always play by ear from the age of 5 and encourages this skill with her pupils. She is always patient, encouraging and enthusiastic and she herself is a versatile pianist.

Her main areas of concentration and in study of piano techniques and creativity are :

 1) Taking exams... Classical, Jazz and Blues, Theory of Music.
 2) Playing for fun and enjoyment.
 3) Learning to play by ear.
 4) Keyboard harmony.

Margaret learned to play by ear and fell in love with music at the age of five. She was brought up in a very musical environment with lots of encouragement.  She was enrolled at the Birmingham Conservatoire Of Music Royal Schools at the age of 11 gaining an L.R.A.M. at the age of 18. Margaret continued to play the piano from the "Blues-rock'n'roll...Latin...popular...jazz...funk...romantic ballads...pop...etc a Chopin nocturne.
Margaret likes to put her efforts into playing solo and being accompanied by other musicians.
She has played in Brazil, Gran Canaria, Havana (Cuba). Margaret had extensive lessons with the great Peruchin (pianist with Buena Vista Social Club on Havana, Cuba) in Latin rhythms for two months 2010. She is versatile and multi-faceted and happy to create the perfect ambience for all occasions with a vast repertoire
